Is it fair to pull your kids out of school to take them to the fair? Come on, we have been so busy this fall that the only time we had was during the day......so my answer is YES. Let's go kiddos!
Of course, we went straight from the front gates to the pigeon judging area.
Seth's favorite bird this year. After watching the men judging the pigeons, Seth told me that he would like to do that when he gets older (please just don't try and make a living out of it, okay?)
Petting the goats,
seeing eye to eye with them,
petting the cows,
loving the piglets,
and petting the pigs,
all adds up to one of two things....mom being grossed out with all the germs or suffering a severe allergy attach. Therefor, we made sure to hit all the hand sanitizer stations.
After seeing our fill of the animals, we headed over to the rides (which we always skip) but since dad was not with us....mom caved and bought a few tickets.
At the dart throw every single dart thrown popped a balloon! I thought they were rigged not to pop??? So they all choose a stuffed animal lobster and off we went to the roller-coaster.
When you are the only ones not in school.....you get the entire ride to yourself.
And you get to go around so many times you wonder if it will ever come to a stop. Blake even said he was starting to get dizzy and was wondering how many times they went around. Seth never once had a smile. I couldn't tell if he was enjoying the never-ending ride or not.

So instead of going around and around on a dragon, we mixed it up a bit and started doing circles in cars....he seemed to like this much better.
Brooke liked her rainbow car too.
The Big Yellow Slide.....a must do at the fair. Blake loves it every year, Seth wasn't sure if he liked it last year, and Brooke is good to try anything once.
Upon coming down, Blake still loved it, Seth will pass in the future, and Brooke liked it the first half and as the speed picked up she decided it was too big.
Blake winning the race....I thought for sure I had this one in the bag, being heavier and all.
Everybody got what they ordered.....even Brooke. She didn't realize until after, that the bottle of water she ordered (even though I questioned her several times) wasn't what she really wanted. Bummer.
Blue, cold goodness.
Look Out!!! She's gonna tear into somebody!
Pup making sure Boodie doesn't get lost at the fair.
And so our trip to the fair ends.....we had a good time, didn't we Brooke?

Looks like you all had lots of fun! And a day off school- Ya Hoo!
We need to update our Blog, it has been soooo neglected!
No...it's NOT fair. Didn't you get the memo? You're supposed to check me outta work when you check the kids outta school! Where's Siri so I can send you a reminder not to forget in the future ;)
That's the best kind of field trip- and just one of the reasons I LOVE homeschooling!
