When the weather man said it was going to be "WINDY" he wasn't kidding. The first day off-track for the kids was predicted to be windy. So we got ready for the day, went to the store, bought 4 kites and extra string to see who could get theirs the highest. After having a chili-cheese dog and a drink we headed to a nice park with no power lines or big trees. Two minutes out of the car, Seth's kite snaps off his string. So we didn't even get a picture of him with his kite, he tearfully headed back to the car to get a thing of bubbles (Plan B if the kites didn't work). We immediately double-knotted the remaining 3 kites and kept with Plan A. Kenz got her kite up and flying with a little help from mom. (It was an expensive launch. The wind was so strong that while releasing more string, it sliced through my acrylic nail. I quickly pulled my hand back to find a cut similar to that of a table saw. Back to the nail salon I go.)
I then attempted to help Blake get his Bakugan kite souring. While trying to get the red tail untangled, Brooke starts asking for help from behind me. I turned around to see that she and her Ariel kite were in a tug-o-war. Somehow she had gotten the string wrapped around her neck and then it took to the sky, all while tugging at her neck. I jumped up, and quickly made her walk towards her kite to give her some slack before it became a noose. YIKES!
Back to Blake. We got his up and going then all of the sudden SNAP! His kite string broke and off his kite flew over the houses across the street. More tears, and another kid off to Plan B. By now Brooke had had it with Ariel and she was also blowing bubbles and watching the wind toss them around. Thank goodness for Plan B!

You are one smart momma to have a Plan B! And yes, we need to get together soon--any suggestions?
