Brooke is Four

Out little Brooklet turned four on February 7th. She loves playing with baby dolls and especially my old Cabbage Patch Kids. At the time of her birthday she had been running a fever for several days and taking naps which she NEVER naps anymore. So she was not at all feeling well, but the party must go on.
Here is the CRAZY proof that she wasn't her normal self. She told me on several occasions that she did not want her presents wrapped. REALLY?!?! So, I figured it's her birthday, she can do it how she wants. So here are her presents "hiding" until it is time to simply give them to her....without the need of unwrapping them first.
Brooke shares her birthday with her Uncle Justin. This is what the typical "before you open your presents" picture would look like......
Here is Brooke's "present" picture. Poor little girl is just trying to wear a smile and is as pale as a ghost.
Seth waiting his turn behind the couch to bring her the next present.
Is that wrapping paper or a gift bag you ask??? Yes, yes it is. Both my mom and Mackay said to heck with her sick wish, it's a birthday and I'm going to wrap the gift before I give it to her. Thanks for the beautiful dress Mackay!!!
This was an extremely difficult night for Karissa. She too absolutely loves babies and when she saw all the new baby dolls and baby clothes and baby strollers and beds....she could not keep her hands off of them and Brooke still had enough spunk in her to not want to share something she had never even played with yet.
Cabbage Patch Cake
Since Brooke and Uncle Justin shared a cake this year I cleverly combined both of their deepest loves at the moment. Brooke and her babies, Justin and his garden.
Weeks before her birthday Brooke wanted to make sure there were candles on her cake for Justin to blow out. She was very concerned that they would be the right color for a boy. Blue was a good color she thought. So she got for pink candles (one for each year) and Justin got 4 blue candles (one year shy of one for each decade).
Brookie wouldn't give the baby a kiss with me....poor little girl.
Come to find out she had a urinary infection of some sort. She slept a lot the week of her birthday and missed a lot of school. She's so cute when she's sleeping. :) We're glad she's feeling better now.
The next day she had her best friends over for a baby party. These are the invites before she delivered them. Ellie, Breanne, Brooke, and Reagan all hugging the dolly the brought to play with at the party.
Oh look! Another baby! Fun times....thanks Peanut!
They are all going to be such good little mommies someday.
Did I decorate another cake? No way! Kids LOVE to decorate their own cake, so that is exactly what they got to do. I gave them all a cupcake and 3-4 different colored bags of icing and they went wild. They frosted it, licked it off, frosted it, ate a small layer off, frosted it again, and again and again. I believe 4 times was the record before the cupcake was all gone.
Then came an unplanned outdoor party. They all put on their coats and boots and headed out to play.
They quickly flew to California and made it back just in time for me to take them back home before their moms worried too much about them. Little girls are so much fun and they all had a wonderful time playing make believe together.
