Becker Bunch: Fun Fall Festivities

One more catch-up post for my ImPatIeNt family. (You must remember John prints this blog for me each year and I want to make sure I don't leave anything out.) :)

I got to got on a field trip to Heritage Park with Kenzie and her 4th grade class. It was VERY neat. I'd never been there before and it as as fun as everyone had said it was. All of the staff were dressed as pioneers and did not come out of their "role" at any point in time. It was like walking into the Salt Lake Valley with one of the handcart companies. In the picture above, Kenzie is being taught in an old school room with old school rules and old school supplies. VERY NEAT and EDUCATIONAL!

The kids got to pull a handcart up and down hills, through the weeds and trees.

Kenz is very glad not to have been born in the pioneer times!

Later that day we went to pick up our pumpkins in preparation for the annual pumpkin walk. We picked up ours and several other families at the same time.....that's a lot of pumpkins!

Carving pumpkins is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do.....

The finished products (with exception of Brooke's Snow White that mom finished for her the next morning) ready to be driven back to the city for the official entry.

After our pumpkin carve-a-thon in the front yard, we all came in for a yummy Halloween dinner.

We had lots of slushy homemade root beer.

We all got to make our own mini ghost pizzas

And drink with crazy skeleton straws. A good time was had by all!

To finish off the night, Seth thought he'd pull out a tooth to see if he looked like his jack-o-lantern.

A few nights later, the ladies went out for a little haunting of their own. We dusted off our witch hats and made sure we applied plenty of black lip-stick!

We went to Garden Village's Witches Night Out. It is so fun and crazy to see so many witches all in one fun place. Next year we need to accessorize a bit more to fully fit into the crazy crowd that comes out this time of year.

We spend a large part of the evening witch watching. Diann, Kristin and I LOVE to people watch and people watching at WNO was some of the best there is. We laughed, and laughed, and laughed! (Especially when Diann decided to fall off the wall we were sitting on, back into the ground cover.)

We also tried to take lots of pictures of ourselves without looking through the lens.....so each time we looked at what we captured, it was good for yet another round of laughter. Fun-times!

Brooke got to go on her first field trip with her pre-school class. We went to Black Island Farms. The girls and I had lots of fun playing together while the "big kids" were at school.
