How Did the Pioneer Women Do It!?!?!?!

Pretty as a picture!
Tara an I proudly showing off the "fruits" of our labor. We think they were pretty enough to enter into the fair! Luckily we don't have to rely upon our days of canning to get us through the winter...because we didn't reap that much.
One morning while Tara and I were canning pears, Brooke and Breanne got into some make-up and tried to figure out what they wanted to be for Halloween. We weren't sure what they were supposed to be, but we do know what they were....In TRouBle!
The following day while canning peaches Breanne and Brooke decided to run through the sprinklers...NaKeD! With clothes and diapers shed on the sidewalk, they ran hand in hand through the sprinklers laughing with glee.
Time to dry off girls and get back to the task at hand (if you want to run around sans clothing, let's move it to the backyard). These two incidents make us wonder how the pioneer women took care of a million kiddos and put food away for the winter?!?!? Thank heavens for grocery stores!
We have a YUMMY and VERY easy homemade bread recipe that is sweeping the neighborhood and the family. It is so easy that McKenzie makes us two warm loaves each and every time all by herself!
We got a hold of a delicious salsa recipe, so off to the local farmers garden we went. We had lots of fun picking our own tomatoes and then going home to make lots and lots of salsa. Within the same week we went back for another box to make and can homemade spaghetti sauce.
