We woke up and headed out to Antelope Island at 6:30 am. It was a nice cool autumn morning, but the kids thought it was "cold". We were hoping to see the morning hot-air balloon launch, but due to wind, they could not take off. BUMMER! They said we could come and go with the daily pass, so we decided we'd come back in the evening to see them launch and then light-up at dusk.
While waiting out on a dry, dusty island why not whack your brother with a desert weed?
The wind died down a bit and they attempted to blow-up the balloons, but still to no avail.
So we took a ride in a silly train.
After two different trips to the island that day, we now know why they have the balloon festival and kite stampede at the same time.....if the balloons can't fly due to wind, than you certainly can have fun flying kites!!! Blake brought a big shark kite and we took turns flying it for an hour or so before heading home.
