Blake putting out our flag...
Getting ready to catch lots of taffy with good friends at the Syracuse City Parade

Karissa's first parade, and look, she's instinctively got her hands up ready to catch the loot

Since we decided to host a 4th of July party in our backyard, our day started with a little bit of yard work. John tried out his new riding lawn mower that he got for his birthday. He always has help from the kids now that they get to "help drive".

Brooke and Ellie giving hugs. We celebrated the 4th of July with all of West Point City. Grams said the dinner last year was yummy (and free). This year was not quite as she'd remembered it, but the fireworks were great. John said they were the best he'd ever seen.
The kids had fun getting their faces painted
As the night went on and the line didn't dye down, the face painting lady got more and more skimpish with the face art. The first kids got a full-face paint and the last few of the evening got...well, let's just say they got "jipped".
"I wanted a big flower!"
