Syracuse City Pumpkin Walk

This has become a Becker Family Tradition. Ever since moving to Syracuse, we have participated in the carving and attending the annual pumpkin walk. We reserve our pumpkins, pick them up several days before the walk, take them home, carve them, take them back to the city, and than wait in anticipation to see each of our pumpkins as we walk through the hundreds of jack-o-lanterns.

Brooke's this year was simply a "B". It stands for Brooke, Becker, Beautiful, Boo,...just to name a few.

Seth stuck with a more traditional approach. A good ol' fashion jack-o-lantern with a "scary" mouth. He wanted a hole poked above one eye so he could be sure and know which one was his as he made the walk. (It was also LOTS of fun to jap it with a sharp pencil!)

Blake wanted a spider like McKenzie's....only different. He also wanted to poke holes in his...after japping it 8-9 times, mom said that was enough.
McKenzie's black widow. It's nice that she is old enough now to do most of the carving herself. Mom is quite busy the day before the pumpkin walk. In the past we have got one for everyone, even mom and dad. However, mom learned really quick that after helping 4 kids with their carving, she's usually had her fun for the year!

BOO! How many times a day does mom say "leave your pretty hair in?" Oh well, she'll have to be remembered for how she likes it......messy hair, all over and in her face!

YIKES! Remove the skin and Seth would make an awesome skeleton! This is the first year that Seth has actually wanted to try and remove the insides himself. When he was just a toddler he started dry-heaving when we put some on his highchair tray to play with. Even now at 5, it isn't his favorite thing! He requested a spoon to scrape it out with rather than use his hands.
