McKenzie's Baptism Announcement
McKenzie and mom went to a cake decorating exibit at the Utah State Fair about two weeks before her 8th birthday. They were demonstrating how to decorate with fondant. They raffled off the cake at the end of the exibit and Kenzie's ticket was only one number away from winning the exotic, topsy-turvy cake. It was then and there that she decided that was the kind of cake she wanted for her birthday...even though mom has NEVER done a fondant cake and had none of the correct supplies. So mom had two weeks to figure it all out. After many hours of studying on-line cake sites and one attempt at a practice cake, the three layered, topsy-turvy cake above was the finished product. Mom was happy that it met McKenzie's expectations.
